“Don’t bother just to be better than your contemporaries or predecessors. Try to be better than yourself.”
– William Faulkner
Max Zwain
Director of Retirement Planning
A life-long New Orleans native, Newman and Tulane alum, Max stays involved in the local community performing data analysis and strategic operational/financial oversight on a variety of boards across the city and state. While at Tulane, Max worked full-time as a Manager for Dickie Brennan & Co., tackling accounting, payroll, strategic vision implementation, and management.
After graduating from Tulane, Max deferred his law school acceptance, and joined Teach for America. Max spent several years teaching high school math at East St. John in Reserve, LA. His time as an educator exposed him to the huge gap in financial literacy existing throughout the state. This sparked a passion for educating and assisting people in complex financial matters, and he incorporated personal finance and geo-politics into his math classes.
Max began his finance career in 2015 in the private wealth management team at Morgan Stanley, assisting in the supervision of over $2 billion in assets under management.
In 2017, Max came to FreeGulliver to foster his entrepreneurial spirit. His duties include, but are not limited to comprehensive financial planning, risk analysis and mitigation, geo-political trend analysis, as well as 401(k) and other business consulting services. Max lives near Bayou St. John with his wife and daughter.
